| Hey everybody, no big post today; I called Travis this morning to see when the baby was due & he said "oh, he was born last nite", of course knowing Travis, I thought he was just joking, but he wasn't! Anyways, Canon (don't know middle name yet) Maples was born last nite & weighed 8lbs & don't know ounces or length. Sorry guys! But anyways, he gave me a site address of one of his friends to see the pics and I thought I would pass them along to you: www.jozheath.blogspot.com By the way, Skyler has started potty training--as you all know, this has been very stressful for me, since he is turning 3 next week & he is still in diapers!!! But Wednesday afternoon, he just decided he was going to start going to the potty & so far only 1 accident. We are still putting a pull-up or diaper on him at nite or if we go somewhere (I'm afraid he might not be able to hold it if we are on the highway & I can't pull over!), but other than that he has been wearing his "big-boy underwear!" This is so redneck, but I have left the door open all day so that he could pee outside if he needed too. Last nite we were outside talking to our neighbors & I look over & Skyler has dropped his pants & whizzing like crazy on the grass; my face turned about 20 shades of red, but they laughed, so oh well at least he's not peeing in his pants!! Speaking of birthdays, Skyler is having his party tomorrow nite at "Pump It Up" in West Knoxville. I think all of his cousins will be there except for Sadie & Canon of course. Even Cal Dupa is making his way up from Georgia to be there! Yea! I can't wait! A girl (woman) that Rod went to high school with & works out at the gym that I work at is making his cake--it is going to be a UT jersey! Hopefully I'll post some pics of the party & cake. Wish us luck with the potty thing! | | |
| Skyler went to his first dentists appointment on Wed. March 19th! They said he probably set the record for the youngest child to have a cleaning in their office!! I really want Skyler to have strong, healthy teeth & could not wait for his first cleaning. He did a fantastic job & I was so proud of him! Of course, it really helped that Melissa, his hygienist & Dr. Thomas were so sweet to him & really put any fears he may have had (which I don't think were any!) to rest. He was introduced to "Mr. Thirsty-Straw"--that suction thing they put in your mouth after they squirt the water--and he thought that was so cool! He asked her to do it again!
Easter was nice, but just cold; the day before, I had dressed Skyler in shorts and a t-shirt! He looked adorable, though. I looked EVERYWHERE for his Easter outfit, but not much of a selection for little boys. I finally went to Pigeon Forge & found him something at the Children's Place outlet. I could never really get him still enough for a picture; I tried to get a shot of his argyle socks, but no luck!!
That'll have to do for now; Skyler is getting sleepy & restless! | | |
| As we speak I am downloading pics from Ellis bowling party (Mom let me borrow her memory card) & the family get together, so hopefully (although not tonite) I will get them posted soon. Doggone supposed high-speed, back in the sticks, never get a signal unless you hold your mouth the right way Internet!! But there was one really funny thing that happened that I wanted to post before I forgot: After everyone had left my sister calls & Rod answers the phone & I hear him say "Sorry? What did she do leave a terd in the toilet? Not flush? (Just in case you're wondering as they were leaving Elli had to come back in & use the potty) Oh my gosh that is hilarious!" After he got off the phone with her he told me that (as you all may know, Lily is terrified of Bo, our boxer) as Jeff was taking Lily out to the car she proceeded to tell Bo to "go to Hell!" | | |
| Everyday something happens to make me think--"I have GOT to post this on my Xanga! Having a 2-year-old (soon to be 3) is so much fun, but no 2 days are alike! He comes up with the craziest stuff to say & he loves making up jokes--especially of the "knock-knock" variety!! He told me the other day, "I'm a Knoxville Nerd!" whatever that means, but I thought it was funny. Elli turned 5 a few days ago--how sad! It just doesn't seem right; to me she's still 3 years old! Oh & she's so grown up for her age! She had a bowling party in Sevierville & afterwards we all went back to her house for presents, cake & pizza. She got a lot of Barbie stuff & a Cabbage Patch Kid named 'Megan'. I could've kicked myself for forgetting my camera, especially since it was Skylers first time bowling & all of the greats were there except Cal, Sadie & Razeail. Luckily, Mom & Salina brought theirs, so maybe I can borrow their memory cards & download some of the pics. It was so cute to watch them; they have a special contraption & you put your ball on top of it & push it down so it will pick up speed (if you have ever seen a small child bowl, you know it can take forever for the ball to get to the pins!!) & they also had the bumpers up to prevent gutter balls. Lily was the high scorer with a score of 105(which was more than even most of the adults!) | | |
| I must've been completely out of my head when I posted that the surgery "wasn't as bad as I thought"!!! I was still drugged up! It was THE WORST experience and pain of MY LIFE!!!!!! Oh my gosh! I thought I was going to die! Days 3 & 4 were the worst! If anybody decides to get their tonsils taken out, turn, run out the door, don't do it! I am soooooooo hungry! If my scales are right, I've lost close to 9 lbs; not worth it! Rod has been awesome! He has waited on me hand & foot & his mom has taken Skyler to her house several times so I could rest. My Mom came by one night & brought me some magazines and a new dress. Talking totally wears me out & makes my vocal cords tired. Please keep me in your prayers that I will get back to feeling better & will be able to eat soon & take care of my family again! | | |
